Japanese Rice Terraces

Posted on October 15th, 2017

The government of Japan maintains a lit of 100 rice terraces (on the side of mountains so they form a nice shelf like appearance) and we’ve included them as bronze goals with 5 points!

Japanese Passes Online

Posted on October 15th, 2017

We’ve added a major list of Japanese mountain passes to the site as single challenges each Bronze and worth 5 points. Try and hit as many of them as you can!

note: Some of the passes may not be on roads, drop me a line if you find one that is unreachable by road and we’ll fix it

Japanese Support Added

Posted on October 15th, 2017

This interface now has been released in Japanese. All the menu items and help descriptions have been added in Japanese. To switch languages, click the link at the bottom of the screen to see the same page in a different language.

The Japanese verison can be accessed from: http://jp.sporra.net

Over time, if there is the demand, bilingual challenge names will also be added.

Route Point Calculation Change

Posted on October 10th, 2017

We’ve updated the way we calculate points for routes.

Previously, routes were an all-or-nothing calculation. Points where only receieved if the route was 100% ridden. Under the new system, the first 75% of the points are given proportionally to the distance ridden and the last 25% are given upon completion of the route.

The update has been released and users’ points have been reflected accordingly. As a result of this change no users’ points will decrease and should only increase (as previously no credit was received for partial completions)

New Map Feature

Posted on July 30th, 2017

The map feature has been released. Click here to see the map feature!

Way points challenges are shown on the map in addition to routes shown as lines on the map.

This should make it easier to find challenges near you! Be sure to allow the browser to see your location so that the map automatically zooms to your area!

Nofuku Pass

Posted on June 18th, 2017

While riding around Ehime Prefecture, Japan I came across this most specactular of passes. At only 290 meteres, it isn’t a particularly high pass but the view of the ocean on the way down makes the descent quite unique.
